What A Weekend…

January 23, 2008

I would like to start out by saying…THANK YOU…to all of the people who held the fort down at Crossway Church this weekend…YOU ARE ALL AWESOME…again, thanks for all of the hard work!!!

Renee’ and I were some of the ones that were out of town this weekend. We ministered at an “ADVANCE” that we minister at every year called “BREAKAWAY”…All I can say is that it is so awesome when family comes together and worships our Heavenly Father…All of you that are on the leadership team of FDM www.familydm.com  I want to say thanks for being family and loving Renee’ and I so much!  For everyone else that was there this weekend thanks for seeking the face of God with everything within you…that is what always makes BREAKAWAY so powerful!!!

This weekend gave me a whole new passion for reaching the lost, reaching the hurting, and reaching the next generation…I hope that it gets more and more contagious!!! Blessings to all…

Until all have heard,

Rodney

Today is the DAY!!!

January 16, 2008

Just finished my spin class this morning…it was awesome as usual…Today is the DAY!!! My oldest daughter turns 16…Please pray for Renee and I…she actually does not start driving until tomorrow…It is almost hard to believe that we have a 16 year old in our home…it makes me wonder…”Where has the time gone?”…It will only be 2 years and she will be off to college…WOW!!! We celebrated her birthday on Monday night and it was a lot of fun…we had her friends, family and others with us…

I guess if I could ask one question today, it would be…”WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE?”…I believe Our Heavenly Father asks that question of us sometimes. He so longs to have time with us…you know…one on one time… Start today or start back today…just start spending some time with your Heavenly Father…He is madly in love with you!!! I know when I spend quality time with Him…I am refreshed, relaxed, renewed and sometimes even perplexed as He boggles my mind with His GREATNESS…Have a great day!!!

Until all have heard,

Rodney

Great Day to Spin…

January 10, 2008

I am starting the New Year off with a new “SPIN” routine…instead of two days a week I am now “spinning” 3 days a week… man am I stoked…It was awesome this morning!!! I was able to do early morning spin and then still do my normal workout with Aaron in the afternoon…fun-fun-fun…you have gotta love it!!!

To me…every day is a great day to spin!!!Kind of like how God feels about us…everyday is a great day for Him to love us…You know; no matter how bad your day is today…our God still loves us…not only does He love us but He desires a deep intimate relationship with us…I am not talking about religion or rules I am talking about relationship!!! My thoughts would be that we would be able to build a relationship with God and have Him at the center of everything that we are doing…that is really putting the 1st Commandment in 1st place…TRUE Christianity…hold that thought though…I believe that Jesus said that we needed “to love our neighbor as our self”…If you really want to do something radical besides “spinning” 3 days a week; try loving others as you love yourself…I believe that was Jesus’ command…look it up for yourself…(Matthew 22:37-40)…You will also find that you need to love the Lord your God with all of your heart, with all your soul, and with all of your mind…simple Christianity right…right!!!

This kind of stuff is impossible for mere man…but “What is impossible with men is possible with God.” (Luke 18:27) God desires that we allow Him to work through us to be able to do all that He has called us to do!!! Well, even if you are not going to “SPIN” 3 days a week…begin to love Him like never before and allow Him to help you love others even those that you think are unlovable…see above verse…blessings and hope that you have a GREAT day!!!

Until all have heard,

Rodney

  • We finally got our Christmas decorations put up yesterday…yee-haw…is that a word?
  • Just looking out across our Sunday crowd it seems as if most people are back on track from the holidays…we missed all of you and are glad that you are back…
  • My oldest daughter turns 16 in 8 days…please pray for Renee and I…and for Hannah!
  • She has done very well with her 1 year of training so I expect that she is going to be fine…but PRAY…
  • Deer season is winding down but it will not be long before Turkey season comes in…my son is getting very excited about it…he has already started making all those crazy clucking sounds…
  • My youngest daughter has an American Girl doll now so we have a new child…her name is Samantha…I call her “Sam” but my daughter assures me that her name is Samantha…with her hands on her hips…go figure!…

12 Days…

January 3, 2008

I know…I know…it has been 12 days since I last posted a BLOG!!! I wasn’t sure how many days that I would take off from posting during the holidays. This was a bit too many…anyway here I am writing for the first time…My Christmas was stolen by a Grinch called STOMACH VIRUS…can you say YUK!!! I was sick from about 1:30 am Christmas eve until sometime on the 26th…My family and I had a blessed Christmas despite my virus… Renee and I took my oldest daughter to Gainesville on the 26th to meet with one of her friends from Tampa so she could stay with her for a few days…on the 30th when we went back to pick her up our car tore up on I-75…thank the Lord for friends though…our good friends Eddie and Beth Taylor live in Lake City, FL and we were able to drive our car to their home for the evening…my dad had to come from Waycross to get us via pick-up and trailer the next morning…I got the car fixed that evening and we brought the New Year in with the Crossway Family…

Yes the holidays have been most exciting for the Thrift family…our service was awesome on Sunday…thank you leaders for stepping up to the plate and making everything run smooth!!! Crossway family you are wonderful…I am believing that 2008 will be the best year for us thus far…keep believing with us and stay filled with faith…blessings until tomorrow…

Until all have heard,

Rodney
