I spoke at another funeral yesterday…it was one of my cousins. He was 21 years old and had been battling cancer for the last 6 years. Keith was a real trooper throughout his battle. I cannot imagine what it must have been like for Him when he got to see Jesus face to face! His testimony was that he never questioned God aloud for his illness. I am not sure how much he questioned internally but Keith was always grateful for the life that God had given him while he was on the earth. He lived life to its fullest everyday; it was almost as if he truly had a grip on how precious life really is.
My question today is…how precious is life to you? It seems that every time that I do a funeral questions like this become more real to me. I question God a little bit more, about why things like this happen to a 21-year-old young man. I know that God is sovereign and omnipotent but me being the inquisitive person that I am…I need an answer. Every time, for me anyway, it comes back down to trust and faith. Trust in the Lord and have faith that He is who He is and His ways are higher than my ways. Nevertheless, days like yesterday are special and make me appreciate just how precious life really is! Live life to the fullest today in Christ and figure out new ways to make those closest to you realize just how precious life really is.
Until all have heard,
Rodney
