I am delighted today share some thoughts on trusting God. We are in a new series at Destination Church called “Out of the Blue”. This is a 5 week series and deals with the topic of life coming at you out of the blue, and what to do when it does. We are talking about trusting God no matter what.
Yesterday we learned that we could trust God wherever we are in life. We heard from a dynamic speaker from the big city of Breaux Bridge, LA outside of the Lafayette area. Thanks again Jason and Amanda Rhoades for sharing your life story with us, and thanks to our whole team for an awesome service! It was great to be back in church after a week long vacation! Let’s look at what we learned for just a moment…
First things first, we learned that wherever we go, not only will God equip us but he will provide for us! Then we were taught that…
1. We can trust God no matter what state of mind that we are in! Because sometimes it is not good when bad circumstances come our way!
2. We can trust God no matter what place we are in or no matter where we are! In other words we can trust God wherever we are physically, because we cannot escape from Him.
I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning,
if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. (Psalm 139:7-10 NLT)
3. We can trust God no matter what the calling! We learned that as a disciple we are all called. (Matthew 28:19-20) we just need to trust God and be faithful in the calling.
One of the most important lessons that we were asked to learn on trust was…like the disciples of old…that we are all the disciple that Jesus loved most! Think or say this with me…I am the disciple that Jesus loves the most! Like any good father, He has the ability to love us all the same. I believe when we trust at this level it can transform us forever.
